Alaska Public Seismology Network
With all the seismic activity in Alaska, it's no surprise that scientists are eager to
gather and share as much information as possible. That is exactly the function of this
earthquake resource site, and it is fully available for public consumption.
CREWES Project Home Page
This research consortium focuses its efforts in research into improved acquisition,
processing and interpretation of seismic data. The goal is to obtain improved 3-D
geological images of the subsurface.
Earthquake Research Breakthrough
Take the information you get here with a grain of salt, but take the information. This
page explores breakthroughs in geological research that could lead to valid earthquake
prediction capabilities.
Earthquake Strong Motion Database
Although this online relational database focuses solely on California earthquake
information, it provides useful data on strong ground motion phenomena. Of particular use
to researchers and university students, the site offers a variety of search tools.
Earthquake Warning Research
Taking a somewhat nontraditional approach to earthquake prediction, this seismology site
focuses on humans who seem to have a sixth sense about seismic activity. Although a
bizarre approach, it still makes for interesting reading.
National Earthquake Information Center
Not surprisingly, the USGS collects and collates vast amounts of seismological data from
all over the world. Several databases are available for the public along with current and
general earthquake information.
